Churches reopened...
On Sunday 5th July, we celebrated public masses in the parish churches under social distancing conditions. Seating is restricted to ensure we are sitting 2 metres apart. We use hand sanitizers on entering the church and face masks are encouraged. As the Sunday Obligation continues to be suspended, an additional two masses are being held on Saturdays at 10.00 am and Mondays at 9.30 am in St Colman's, Dromore, to provide a greater choice of masses over the weekend.
Other News...
  • Coronavirus Update 24th March- 25th March 2020
Due to the restrictions announced on 23 March, there will be no public celebrations of Mass or the other sacraments until further notice (funerals are exempted). The parish office is closed to visitors but can be contacted by phone (028-92692218) or email (office@stcolmans.org). The church in Dromore will be open for private prayer.
  • Coronavirus Update 20th March - 20th March 2020
Both parish churches will be opened on the morning of Sunday 22nd March to allow people to come and pray. Mass leaflets and bulletins will be available in the church porches. Please take them home - and please bring them to those who are self-isolating if you are one of their trusted callers. If not, could you post them through a neighbour's letter box? Let's help each other keep connected as treasured community members.
  • Coronavirus Update (15th March 2020)- 15th March 2020
The actions taken to limit the spread of the Coronavirus are changing, almost daily, but there remains a number of constant actions that we can individually and collectively follow. 1) Hand hygene - wash your hands regularly with soap and water; and use a handkerchief when coughing or sneezing (Catch it! Bin it! Kill it!). 2) If you are displaying symptoms of the Coronavirus, self-isolate for seven days. 3) Take care of those who are most vulnerable. As a Catholic community this is our priority at this time. What is happening in the parish of Dromore? a) All parishioners, especially those most vulnerable, are dispensed from attending Sunday mass. c) There will be no masses on St Patrick's Day d) The situation regarding masses will be monitored so as to comply with any Public Health advice on large gatherings (currently we are using the HSE criterion of cancelling indoor events with more than 100 people). e) Mass will be celebrated in private by the parish priest at the usual times for the intentions of parishioners and for health and healing at this time. e) Confirmation is postponed f) First Confession for the P4 children is postponed as are the Do This in Memory celebrations. There will be a later update on the date for First Communion. g) Celebrations of baptisms, weddings and funerals will take place but families are asked to respect the current guidance that gatherings in churches should be less that 100 people. If you are not physically attending mass, you can join in the celebrations online. There are several local churches streaming masses via: www.mcnmedia.tv/cameras/county/northern-ireland
